HIS plans are perfect

If you have been following my blog (or lack there of) you know last year I took a leap of faith leaving my full time career to pursue my passion of helping others with the details of their lives.  I LOVE helping others achieve their goals by taking their big picture ideas and focusing on the details to create beautiful spaces and memorable events.

I had big dreams/plans for 2015! The start of a new career, an opportunity to spend more time with my children and the ability to serve at church in a leadership role (OK, so I’m heading the Social committee, everyone has to start somewhere!). As I blogged in my previous post (only post) about swinging off the monkey bars I felt led to make changes in my life and to follow my passion. I took the leap and fell flat on my face. I was focused on what I felt were God’s plans for me but my timing was not his timing.

The short story is in 2006 I was diagnosed with a rare form of head/neck cancer in my parotid gland. I successfully underwent a delicate surgery and had the tumor fully removed with no ongoing treatment. Fast forward to 2015, I completed my last day of full time employment with my previous employer of 13 years, committed to serve on the leadership committee at church and began to focus my energy on my new business.  Just days later I was given the news that my cancer had returned and I was to undergo another surgery even more delicate than the previous one. It knocked the wind out of my sails and I thought I had misread all the plans that I felt led to pursue. What I learned over the course of 2015 is that I did not misread the plans. I needed to be still and know that He is God and that HIS plans are perfect.

I am once again in remission and over the course of 2015 I had the opportunity to work create and coordinate some beautiful and fun events as well as  help some really great people with some really fun projects. I also had the opportunity to work on some of the details in my home. All of which I plan on sharing with you as we move into 2016. Hopefully, I can inspire you to think about the details in your life but more importantly encourage you to know that through all circumstances God is good and HIS plans are perfect, sometimes we just need to be still and know that he is God.

XOXO,

Kelly

When I was diagnosed with Lymphoma; I also had to strengthen my relationship with God… a pleasure. ..Be still and know He is God and Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own uderstanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths…was what I clung to. The will of God will not take you where the grace of God will not protect you…
these verses also helped me 5 years ago to become a recovering alcoholic. …2 years ago to quit smoking. .. I have been blessed many times …

    Dear Kelly,
Thank you for your great arrangement of my paintings at DaySpring yesterday. I would never have thought of the interesting way that you grouped some of the smaller ones to create viewing interest.
    Nice job!

  4. Gods timing is always perfect! There is a time and a season for all things. So happy you are in remission!
